Argentina 2010

Happy #tbt friends! In light of a super exciting trip my dad and I are going on next week, today’s #tbt is from our trip to Argentina in 2010.

Si! We are going back in a mere 6 days, and I could not be more excited. I have been building my arm strength for the high-volume shooting we are going to be doing, since it is something I should have done on the last go-round! When I say “high-volume” shooting, I am not exaggerating. In 2010, I could not have mentally prepared myself for what I would experience. I had always heard the tales (or at least I thought they were tales) of people bagging over 1000 doves in one day, but I just could not fathom that was actually the case. Well, it was. And still is. Although I didn’t have quite the stamina to complete such a feat back then, I now know it can definitely be done. It is on my bucket list, for sure! In 4 days, hunting the same tree line, 4 hunters bagged 12,400 doves. There are so many doves down there, we didn’t make the slightest dent. One of the photos below was taken after the last hunt, and they were still coming in thick! I will be sure to take lots of photos and videos for an even better post when we come back. 🙂
Along with world-class shooting, our week will be filled with good food, great wine, and lots of fun!
Flying over the Andes, en route from Chile to Argentina
The Lodge

Our bird boys.

What did I tell you? The doves in Argentina are similar to the black birds we see around here- they can fly in huge groups, no matter how much shooting we did!

Direct hit! Nothing but feathers.

Parakeet!

Great action shot of the shell ejecting and the bird being hit.

Super excited 🙂

Rock Pigeon

A storm cell that was heading our way one afternoon.

Awesome red wine.
Enjoying a cold beverage post-hunt.
Our loot from one afternoon!
The whole crowd. Loved this adventure, and can’t wait to go back!

THE END!
