Argentina 2013

Well hellooooo USA! We are back from our South American adventures, and it was such an amazing trip. We hunted 2 full days and 2 half days, for a total of 6 hunts. As I mentioned before, the amount of doves was absolutely insane, and the first full day I reached my goal of 1000 doves in one day. I was able to do the same thing on the second full day as well… Wooo boy was I excited. When I knew I was getting close to the goal, I found myself doing little dances in the blind or the field, only to be greeting with laughter from my dad and Pep, our bird boy, along with some of the others on the trip. I found myself in constant awe at the quantity of doves constantly flying around us. You really need to see it for yourself to understand and appreciate it. You’ll get a taste of it in the pictures below! In total, my dad and I shot 5000 doves in 300 boxes of shells. No exaggeration- legitimate numbers. That’s some serious shooting!

The landscape was unbelievable, as well. I often found myself just staring out across the fields in awe! There were times when I felt like I was right back home in a corn field, and others when I could have been in the plains of Africa.

As for the lodge, the staff, food, and accommodations were top notch. I would recommend it to anyone looking to hunt in Argentina. Everyone was so nice, and we never wanted for delicious food or red wine! I could probably do an entire post on just our meals. {Can’t wait to try my own adaptations of some of my favorite dishes!}

I took hundreds of photos, and quite a lot of video with the GoPro, so I will leave you with a handful of pictures to sum up our trip. I am working on piecing together a video with everything, so stay tuned for that as well! Enjoy!

    Hi William –
    I get asked that question a lot! We would eat them as appetizers and whatnot back at the lodge, and the bird boys would take them home to their families/neighbors. Also, the pups got a few free meals out of it, as you can see!
