cinnamon sugar donut mini muffins with lavender

I know that’s a mouthful. Bear with me.

I’m sorry. I’m sorry for what I am about to introduce to you. They’re cinnamon sugar donuts. And also mini muffins. Just trust me. When you’ve eaten 37 of these and you. can’t. stop… Please remember that I warned you. THESE ARE AMAZING. And you can feel less guilty eating several of these than the cupcakes muffins from last week. I made them two days in a row. One batch went to the Rascal, naturally. John and I didn’t crush 2 pans of these by ourselves… Even though (sugar high aside) we could have without batting an eye.

catching up: most recent WOS articles

Hello hello! That probably sounds like I am more peppy than I actually am on this Monday… Mondays are the worst, huh? Can’t it already be Friday again? Ahh, such is life, I guess! Anyway – enough complaining. Not a whole lot has been happening on the hunting or fishing front lately, although it’s not for lack of trying! I did catch a little bass (below) on the pond behind our neighborhood, though. Better than nothing, right?

vegetable spinach dip

Oh hey there! I am just jumping in for a minute today to share with you a quick and easy recipe that you can throw together for the holidays! It’s a great dish to take to a holiday party, and is a sure crowd-pleaser. Enter: vegetable spinach dip. And no, not the kind you pour from a packet, add mayo & spinach, & call it a day. Real veggies. Real good. And it’s pretty healthy, so you don’t have to feel guilty when you eat half of it immediately. I didn’t do that. But you might.

oven-fried fish sandwich with tartar sauce … plus an update!

Has this fishing talk got you craving fish? While I am not exactly going to make grilled shark or fried stingray (and obviously no chance of smoked tarpon… just kidding), it definitely got me in the mindset of a good fish sandwich. And no, I would not ever make any of the above. But you get the idea, right? I resorted to the failed-fishing route and purchased a nice big piece of grouper.
